Today was a great day outside! I was so happy to walk out with some gym shorts and a hoodie and not be freezing! This has been a long awaited moment! Now it didn't last long, I ended up changing into some sweats before leaving to baby sit! But hey, it's a start!
So with the Wedding coming up in just 43 days it's time to get some yard work going!
Because of all the rain/snow we got the last month made things a little bit more of a mess then normal. The acorns were out of control!
out. of. control!
But thankfully Cain is a great groom and started getting things back in order. Along with Landon who was so kind to help us! Yes, us... I was out there too! After I took some pictures that is :)
Nova gets pretty scared at about everything. This is her hiding behind the tree.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.. .you make me happy when skies are gray... :)
Soaking up the sun.
I have been babysitting all afternoon and evening but should be able to head home shortly. I wish I could have spent more time today helping the boys but I know there is a lot of other wedding things that I've done that Cain hasn't been able to help with due to his school hours. But honestly Cain has been the best of help. I run every little thing by him and he always has great input and ideas. I couldn't of done this planning without him!
My mom also has been a great support! We all went over the list of "things to do" and it's so short we were so excited! We have so many people helping us that it's taken most of if not all the load off of us. Could not be more happy with all the support! It's nice to know people want to make our day special by lending a hand.
Though I wish the next 43 days were already gone.... I've enjoyed these months preparing for the Wedding and I have loved the engagement stage :) But don't get me wrong, I can't wait to be married!
It's amazing to me how fast time is flying by. Which is a great thing right now because me and Cain would love to just be married already and start living together! But if the rate of speed we are in right now keeps up, it really will be here in no time! I'm just praying time will slow down right after May 31st so that we can have a honeymoon that never ends ;)
I started writing a list of things I want to get done this coming month of April and last minute things in May. My mind was going all over the place and I put that to a stop by putting a timeline on everything and this way I can check things off. I'm surprisingly not stressed out at all! There are times that I think "wow I have so many things to do" then stop and stare at Cain and think, does this stuff get better? No! I have it all right here in front of me.
I want the day to be beautiful with flowers and perfect weather. But at the end of the day will those things make me truly happy for the rest of my life? The big picture here I am committing to my best friend to always be there for him, to love no matter what and promise to never give up on us. That's what May 31st is about, not the dress I'm wearing ;) BUT... The dress I am wearing is so beautiful!
So last week I had a great time with Graci. Like always. But last Wednesday Graci decided to spend the whole day with Nova and me! Normally around 3 or 4 I ask if she is ready to go over to grandmas and she normally says "sure" and we go! But I asked last week and she just was not ready to leave! We ended up spending the whole day together playing outside, hanging out inside with nova and she helped my dad fix the bathroom shower head! We ended the day with watching Elf :)
Graci is such a big girl! She saw me about to cut the tomatoes for supper and said "I can do that" "Okay show me" I said. And she did it! She cut all of them perfectly. I watched her little thumb of course the whole time but honestly she would have been fine without me!
The things she makes Nova do...
Thursday I went and picked out the color I want for the cabinet Jodi and Rick let me have!
Thursday it was the 1 year mark since Cain graduated Basic training. And look what he gave me! Flowers! Why? He said "For being so strong while I was gone" He is awesome!
Saturday came and it was my trip to Indy! Nova knew something was up, she hates when we leave!
We decided on just doing Whole Foods this time and next time do Trader Joe's! I was so excited still to be able to find things I have been wanting!
My first Papaya!
Cain was having fun too, seeing how excited I was!
My parents had a cart and we had a cart. My parents cart was filled with meat! My dad got a little excited when getting to choice what meat to get!
The hour spent there was a blast. We loved all the healthier options and can't wait to try out Trader Joe's next month!
Next we headed to dinner!
It was so amazing! My parents loved it too!
Does this look familiar?! Once in Indy I realized how close we were to the bridge we got engaged on! I txted Bobbi and Mike and asked for the address. We weren't quite sure where it was at. That day was crazy and it's amazing we actually remembered what town we were in let alone a bridge! Once engaged our minds were way off in Neverland!
Cain gave me a piggy back ride all the way back to the car.
It was a great weekend! But I always get excited about Monday's because it's my day at the apartment! This week Cain worked Monday morning so I went up early to give Plasma and grocery shop. Once he was out of work I made Bison burgers for lunch! And made some yummy guacamole!
When Cain was at class Monday night I added some spices to the spice jars we got as a gift from Erin and Jasper! It was a little messy! But I love these, so cute!
This week is going to be different seeing how Graci is in Florida on spring break! I'm going to try and get some wedding things done! Today we are meeting with the lady who is going to be preparing our food for the family! Really excited to see things coming together for our day!
I would like to be sleeping right now in my bed with nova by my feet. But I'm not. I'm wide awake with a runny nose!
Cain had to work this morning at 8:00am so that meant me up at 7:00am to get breakfast going! Bacon and eggs were eaten and then he was off! Leaving me here thinking, should I try and go back to sleep or not? I'd love to try but I know what will happen. I will lay there thinking of all the things I need to get done! So instead I decided to come on here to get my mind off all the things I need to get done! Haha
Last night we had Derrek and Cat's wedding! We started our morning off pretty early to get everything ready for the day. While Cain spent the afternoon with Bub I went over to his sister Lea's place for awhile to kill time, and eat! I really like Lea, I think we have a lot in common and I'm thankful for her friendship. After I left there I went over to Toni's to get ready for the wedding.
Christine his other sister was there which I was happy about, she is a great friend to me too. I feel as if I could go to her for wisdom and a understanding ear. She is a good listener and is so smart! Yesterday I was thinking "Wow, I have some amazing sisters in my life" I have my blood sisters who I adore and now I have my sister in laws who I also adore and love dearly. I only wish we all lived closer so that we could spend more time together. I couldn't imagine not having sisters or sister in laws. That would be sad! When Cain and I move away one day I know I will miss seeing them. Along with all our family!
Britany (Cain's younger sister) who I've met before but haven't been able to spend a whole lot of time with was there last night and I was lucky enough to sit by her! Right away I knew I liked her. Very sweet, but the type of girl who would hurt anyone if they messed with her family! Just like everyone else on Cain's side they are a tight group and are there for each other. I am thankful for them and love being apart of their family!
See my HOT date I had late night! I love Cain to death, he makes me so proud and I'm blessed to have him by my side. Last night when we got back to my parents and my mom saw Cain in his ASU's she was like "Wow, you look great Cain!" I then said "Yeah, I couldn't keep my hands off of him!" She laughed and said "I was about to ask you, how'd you keep your hands off of him all night?!" Haha. Have I said before how much I love Cain? I do. I really do.
The groomsmen with the groom! Loving the bow ties!
It was a late night for us, we are not normally out passed 9:00pm lol actually I'm normally in bed at 9:00pm but it was worth staying up later to be there for the party and celebration of Bub and Cat's wedding! Cain made an awesome speech and everything he said I would have to agree with. I wish them all the best, and God's blessing on their marriage :)
Well I need to go get ready for church! Hope everyone has a great Sunday with family!
Looky what Cain got in the mail today! His wedding band! So exciting! I even got down on one knee and gave it to him, aren't I sweet? :)
So my picture of the day was pretty easy. Can not wait for him to be able to wear it come May! Only 141 days left ... But who's counting? DUH! We are! ;)
2013 was a great year! Like every year it had it's up and downs but I feel as if we both stayed so positive that even the "down" days weren't so bad!
We got through Basic and AIT this past year and kicked distance in the butt by coming away from the time apart stronger, more in love and able to do it again when the time calls.
Cain got through another semester of college and was able to get into the nursing program at USF. What a stud!
I took the time this past year to learn everything I could about my body and the foods I was eating. I stopped eating junk and started eating pure real food after I found out what I learned! I am now soda and fast food free! Soon to be completely wheat free! I will NEVER go back to the life style I had, I am thankful for the past year I had to focus on me.
The biggest thing that happened in 2013 (besides getting through Basic and AIT) was GETTING ENGAGED! What a amazing thing that was! I would have never guessed the pure excitement it brings. The love and support from family and friends was great!
Along with that I was able to meet my favorite photographers! I thought maybe down the road in 10 years I would hopefully get a chance to meet them but surprise surprise, 2013 was the year for that!
Something we both were just so thrilled about was becoming an Aunt and Uncle this year!!!
Cain passed his EMT test so now it's time for him to just follow his dreams and get a job doing what he loves most!
So what does 2014 bring?? OUR WEDDING! Wow! It's going to be a exciting year for us.
We also will get our first house! We thought we would get one at the end of 2013 but it had other plans. Sadly the landlord didn't want to work with us and we had to walk away from what seemed like a awesome deal, but truly it just wasn't meant to be for us. But that's ok! We are going to start this new year out with high hopes of a better ideal place for us! And it will all work out. If there is one thing you should know about the two of us is that we choose to be positive about everything in life! It's a choice we both make everyday. And when ever either one of us forgets to be positive you better believe we pick each other up and tell one another to snap out of it!
My goal this year is to keep learning about food, my body, and mind! I want to focus on having a better self imagine and loving my self for who I am right then. I have goals for fitness like becoming stronger but I never want to lose sight of what is most important, my health. I control what I eat, and because of that I get to pick if I eat poison chemical food or if I eat natural whole foods. After this year I want to come out of it saying I didn't poison my body, I cleansed it this year.
Cain said he is going to continue to also eat right and learn more about the foods he eats. He also wants to gain some weight in muscle! He is really excited about the nursing program and wants to get the best grades possible :)
