Start of November

Happy November! I have been looking forward to this month for a few reasons! And they are...

A) I am going to be Aunt!
B) It's Cain and I's Anniversary month
C) Work slows down
D) I can go back to working out full time
E) I can do my vegan Thanksgiving meal!

Okay so yes I am going to be a first time aunt! WHAT?! Can this be? And it's coming sooner then I thought! Tomorrow is the big day! Unless Lana starts to go into labor, like now! Which would be fine with me. Besides the fact Cain is at drill this weekend so I would hate for him to not be around! I keep everyone posted on how lana is and of course Emma Grace :)

Cain and I have big plans for our anniversary! Well I guess to some other people it wouldn't be that big, but we are planning on going ice skating like we did last year. We think it would be nice to do the same thing every year, or until we have a wedding anniversary :)

Work hasn't slowed down quite yet, actually it's doing the opposite :/ I have THREE sessions today. And then a couple this week, and next weekend! After that though I think it will slow down and then I have to wait for the snow to come, and then pictures should pick back up!

While work was slower this summer I was able to do my normal working out, I enjoy going to the gym and having some time to myself, or better yet some time just with Cain! But once pictures start up I have to put that on the back burner to stay ahead on pictures and editing. It sucks because I feel so much better when working out, so around this time I'm stress from working and don't get to take it out on anything! So once this week is over it's back in the game with running! My goal is to do 40 miles this month, and step it up in December with 50 or 60 :)

Oh and yes it's turkey month! For everyone else that is. I have never been a big turkey or ham lover. I like the dinner rolls and gravy to much to have room for meat! This past year has been a big change in my daily diet and I have cut out most all meat, besides salmon. I do have that probably once a month. I don't eat any processed food, and cut out dairy because it upsets my stomach to much. The last thing I have cut is gluten. And no it's not because I have a gluten seneitvity I am just concerned with the affect it has on your body and health. Do the search and you might think the same :)

So I decided I will make me a vegan/gain free thanksgiving meal for me and to share with my family. I realized I am going to have to make some yummy dishes if I am going to want to also eat at Cain's side of the families thanksgiving! They always have such yummy other foods that I might want to sneak a bite of theirs if I'm not prepared! ;)

Well I'm off to do my first photo shoot of the day. It's a Senior, family, then engagement session tonight!

Let's DO THIS!

Lanette

Work it

This time of year is some what out of control for me lol

From three sessions a day too early mornings and late night editing. My eyes get so sore from my big screen on my mac (not complaining about the "big" part, I love my mac!) trying to keep all clinets happy by getting their pictures back asap and also trying to spend time with family too.

It gets nuts at times and it will die off soon enough I know but while I am in the mix of so much work and so little personal time I am blessed to have this rock star of a girl to keep me laughing. Everything she does just keeps me thinking "Relax Lanette, enjoy the moment"

Graci is a great reminder of not forgetting to have some fun, relax and be a little sassy ;)

If only I could work it like her, she's got style.

Tripods and remotes

Yesterday was our second attempt at the tripod I bought at a garage sale last week and the self timer remote I had to have with it on Amazon. The first attempt was pictures with Nova sleeping on my bed. Those pictures were sadly lost, I forgot that they were on my memory card after deleting them! Opps!

So I wanted to try it again and yesterday I knew it was going to be "nice" out. I knew the sun would be out, and I was hoping that it would heat up the whole town by 3pm. But NOPE still freezing! So while we got the tripod in place and set the settings for the camera, I'm shaking thinking "why the heck did I think this was a good idea?!" Cain's shaking too but smiling that big smile, happy to be doing this with me. So I sucked it up! We did about 15 minutes of trying different poses making sure we had plenty to choose from. When I went to take video though, my camera died! Of course I would forget to charge my battery! But I wasn't to upset, I was ready to hop back into the car and get warm!

We have a lot of learning to do with using the tripod. A) we look retarded in all the pictures! It's hard not to look too "posing" when setting up the picture yourself. B) Not every picture was in focus. So I will have to learn the trick with that!

This one though was Cain controlling the remote button while I went to check out the picture (and right before the camera died) Haha

Today is just as cold, but missing the sun. For now at least, who knows it could show up! I have a wedding to photograph this afternoon that I'm excited about! Cain is coming along and going to help me! He now has my older camera and new lens! All we need is a camera bag that he is willing to carry around and my day will be made! :p

Even though I won't have him for long seeing how there is a Notre Dame game on later tonight! Ha I then will be on my own doing what I do ;) Have a great Saturday! Stay in if you can, lay on the couch and watch TV if you get the chance. Wish I was doing the same!

Go Notre Dame!

Apple of my eye

Graci has been my little model since day one of stepping into her little world 5 years ago. Though a lot of time has past since that first day her beauty has stayed the same. Simple, yet so powerful. All she has to do is be herself and I let the camera do the rest.

Apples anyone?
