Lanette's Photography 2016 | RECAP

WHAT A YEAR!!

This year was huge because a little of it was spent with me being a full-time photographer! - Although I have felt like I was full time for a few years now, I have always nannied alongside photography.

So starting in August I was only doing photography and it was a bit scary! I was counting on just photography to fill my part of the financial needs we have.

Blessings came overflowing - I was booked for almost 2 1/2 months straight! It was a little overwhelming but I could not complain! I was doing what I loved to do and it made it so much easier to cope with my husband being gone for 4 months since I had amazing people to photograph and keep me busy!

This year I witnessed another birth, I photographed families, seniors, couples, bellies, babies, growing kids, adoptions,  I even photograph Barbara Bradley at Vera Bradley!  But I think my favorite this year was photographing a Military Homecoming!

Bluffton, IN "everyone come together" session | McBride Family

I was looking forward to this session for a while! Brook and Ashley gave her mom a gift card to have family pictures taken (which is an awesome gift!) so when it was time for the session I was ready to give the best gift I could!!

This family is just so great! They were relaxed the whole time. The kids were great listeners and we were able to get some great shots of everyone! This is not even close to all the pictures they got (there were tons!) but these were some of my favorites!

Enjoy the McBride extended family session aka "Everyone come together"

Fort Wayne, IN | Shank Family

This session was WAYYYY back in the first week of October!! Woah! I can't beleive I didn't blog this session sooner!! I have loved photographing this family through out the many years I have known Cory and Mackenzie. Enjoy all these sweetness!!

Bluffton, IN Fall family session | Bouse

I was excited for this session because I love Gary and Jules and couldn't wait to meet their new baby girl Maggie! It was a little bit of a gloomy day but Maggie sure did light up the pictures :)

Sunset Family Session Bluffton, IN | Stuckey Family

Again I say this all the time, these are just a few of my favorite! Enjoy!

Anderson Family | Bluffton, IN

I was looking forward to this session the moment Lindsay asked me about family photos! I think you will see why I was so excited when you scroll down and see how adorable these kids are!

Haley | Bluffton, IN

This was the easiest session I have ever done! Maybe because A) I felt so relaxed around Haley B) that Haley is gorgeous and C) that we had worship music playing the whole time! (I think I need more music played while taking pictures!!)

I can not believe I have only known Haley for a year. It seems so much longer than that! Haley is a great friend and has been so encouraging to me while Cain has been away. She checks in and makes sure I am doing okay, that means so much to me! I have seen Haley grow this past year into a beautiful person, who desires to be closer to Christ <3 I can't wait to see how God uses Haley for his glory. I'm happy to call her a friend, a sister in Christ!

Avery + Kennedy | Bluffton, IN

Avery and Kenndey are my favorite girls! I have been lucky enough to know them both for many years from taking their family photos and their yearly cheer photo shoot! Every year I fall more in love with them! They are sweet, funny, super cheesy, goofy and gorgeous!! Their beauty is from the inside out!

The whole time I think to myself "Man, I am so lucky to have this job!" capturing them every year growing up and becoming young ladies is pretty neat. They both are so different but I think that's what makes them such great friends!

Sadly the rain was about to make it so that we wouldn't be able to do pictures. But the girls and their moms decided that a little (alot) of rain wouldn't stop them from having a fun photo shoot! As you can see from the last few pictures... it was raining, but they were just having fun no matter what!

Can't wait to do this again next year! But we will hope for the sunshine of course ;)

Nora + Momma | Bluffton, IN

These "momma + me" session are starting to become my favorite sessions (besides labor/birth photos!) There is just something about a momma's love that can't be explained but I try to just capture little pieces of the love that I can.

If you haven't done a session with just you and baby (or babies!) get on that now! They are only little once and I promise you won't regret them! <3

King Family | Bluffton, IN

I photographed Adam and Rachael's wedding back in October of 2012! Wow has time changed some things! Their family as has grown a lot since then!!

With three boys we sure did have our hands full ... or maybe just me! Adam and Rachael handle the craziness so well I was very impressed! Lot's of love and some fun in this session! :)

Heller Family | Bluffton, IN

Meet the Heller family! Aka my second family! I have known them now for over 7 years and know that they will stay in my life forever. I was Graci's first babysitter when Jodi went back to work after maternity leave. What started out as a nanny job has turned into a lifelong friendship between not just Graci and I but her whole family! They have treated me like one of their own since the first day I was there, now 7 years later we have shared laughter, tears, heartache, celebrations, and milestones together.

Here are just a few of my favorites!

Zoe | 6 Months

I'm a little late posting these photos! But here is Zoe's 6-month photo shoot! She is getting so big!!

Let's take her to the fair

About two weeks before the fair Graci says to me "We should take Emma to the Fair like you take me to the fair!" I agreed and said, "WE should do that!" I've taken Graci to the Fair the past few years to do the fish game, get cotton candy, ride down the slide etc .. you know Fair type things. I have enjoyed every year doing so. When Graci thought of taking Emma with us this year it made me happy. I love being an aunt and doing things with Emma. I think it made me happy because I love that Graci enjoys playing with Emma, I think I secretly hope they get along so we can all do things together, like this.
Auntie Lane was in on the action to this year, she also wanted to take Emma to the Fair so we all got together and made it happen.
Fish, sweets, games and parade! Oh, what a fun time. Emma did pretty well for her first big day at the Fair the noise from the parade was a lot for her, but she enjoyed it I think. Now she's got the idea of how fun the Fair can be

Chloe | Bluffton, IN

I used to do senior photos all the time. I think because when I was a senior/graduating I knew a lot of other graduates. I was their friend or knew their friends of friends. I loved every senior session! But the older I got (I realize I'm not that old) the less and less senior inquiries I got. I have gotten a few here and there  for the fall or spring season but not like I used too. I started missing the young senior's sessions. They are fun, personal and inspiring! I love all the sessions I do, don't get me wrong!

Harper | Bluffton, IN

Miss Harper turns 1 years old! WHAT??!! It was a year to the day that she was born when we took these pictures! I can remember Sam (momma) texting me saying she was at the hospital and thinking she might be in labor. I thought, well maybe... but probably will be later today or tomorrow. I went to the hospital thinking "It's her first, so this will be a long process"

NOPE! Harper was ready to meet her family! It was no time before she was born! I am so so overwhelmed with joy when I get to witness babies be born. I also get to capture these moments for the family to hold dear for the rest of their lives..... Yup, my job is THAT cool!!

Enjoy Harper's 1 year old photos. At the end, I'll share her birth video again! :)

P.S .... Pregnant? Wondering if a birth photographer is important? Let's chat about it! Email ME!

cally + freya | Bluffton, IN

Can I just say, that I was loving this whole session! Cally is unbelivablely gorgeous insdie and out and miss Freya was adorable!!

Our husbands are both away so to spend a evening being with someone who completely understands the heartaches of not having your spouce around was nice. We were able to chat and capture some sweet moments between her and Freya!

Ryan + Sara + Lucus | Bluffton, IN

This session I had with Ryan, Sara and Lucus was just so laid back and easy! I loved everything about the time I spent with them! I can't wait to get to know them more and hopefully I am able to capture some more memories :)

Dold Family | Fort Wayne

This was a beautiful day, beautiful family and just all around beautiful session! I was honored to photograph the Dold's back in January. Yes it was January and over 60 degrees and gorgeous out, can you believe it?! That is not normal, but so welcomed!

Meet Lanie... She is as cute as she looks!

And the cuteness begins..... :)

Meet Charlie, the Dold's first "baby" ;) Fur baby that is!

Going down town Fort wayne to capture a more "Urban" look.
Here is Lanie being a doll for pictures. Not sure what she was laughing about but I am just happy I was able to catch it :)

She is rocking the urban girl look ;)

Momma and Lanie ....... *heart melt

And the cuteness has taken over ..... I just LOVE this image! .... next one is my favorite though.....

MY FAVORITE!

OKAY, WAIT.... Maybe this is my favorite.... hmmmm...

NO THIS ONE! Gahhh.... how does one pick?? I love all these special little moments.

Seriously, the cuteness is too much!

This was not planned or posed, it was a sweet natural moment between a mom and her daughter. Lanie was the sweetest little girl and you could tell she loved her momma.....

.....She loved her dad too. As you can see....

I just adore this image.  I put on my 30 year goggles (Bobbi's advice) and here I picture a little Lanie in years to come looking back on this photo and seeing the look she is giving her dad. It's so pure and you can see how much she is soaking up every word and thing he does!

Idk, maybe just me but I hope I am able to capture raw moments like these forever!

Always smile big Lanie, you are perfect!
