DINING ROOM TOUR

It took a long time to hang anything in this new home. We moved in at my busiest season (ever!) while Cain also was pushing his limit of jobs and commitments we just kept passing each other going and coming from work and the times we were home we just wanted to sit and be quite haha so we kept the house project list short. Now that things are slowing down I am heading more things to that list (sorry Cain!)

The dining room is located right off of the Kitchen and Living room so we are always passing it and I wanted a clean space, I have a thing for clutter (I hate it!) but my personality tends to leave clutter around so I have to fight against that by limit things in a room!

I needed a place to hang my new oils rack and I couldn't think of a better place to hang it. Cain was just happy I was finally hanging something but said I had to hang a picture too (he is missing our pictures!) so I promised I would make room for it!

I was waiting for a table to put in front of this wall and when Target had a sale on Black Friday I jumped on it and got this adorable table. Sadly I didn't read the color of the wood because it came in "off-white" .... ugh. Nothing makes me more frustrated in off-white! Seeing how our house is very white (Oxford White) anything is just a little off, looks yellowing! Soooooo... without panicking too much I ran to the lowes, but more of my Oxford white and painted the off-white parts of this table!

Let's Stay in Bed

Busy season is slowing down, a little. But it only takes a little to give us a lot of joy! A day inside the house, going no where and just cuddles, loving on Nova and eating lots of food all day ... this is our happy place.

I am so excited for the next few month as I am making this house a home for us. A place we can come into and feel peace and unwind from a busy life <3

P.s Cain has some photograph skills poeple might not know about! Love when he photographs me, because it's so sweet to see his "view" of me.

Fort Wayne, Indiana | Chelsea Maternity Session

 Finally!!!

We had to rescheule Chelsea photos due to weather and so when the time came for her pictures we were really excited to start (although, it was super cold out and windy out!!) but she was a champ and we made it work!!! I can not wait to meet this baby!!!

I took Chelsea senior photos way back when, and now I'm about to photograph her first baby in Januray .... um, wow am I getting old!! Time does fly guys, truly it does.

I love you friend! Thank you for trusting me with the most imporant moments <3 You are a light and a great friend, so lucky to have you!!!

Life right now

Life is still at full speed for us! I am still in my busy season, I don't see an end in sight! (maybe by Christmas?!) I can just hope for a break, what does a break look like to me? Staying at home for a full day! That's all I'm asking for!

Indianapolis, IN Engagement Session | Jagger + Sumer

I so wish I had more time to be updating the blog with some beautiful people and some sweet, super sweet moments... but it's the editing and photographing season right now so in a few weeks I will catch up the blog on all the sessions! But this was one I did not want to get missed!

These are some of our close friends who we love dearly. Cain went to high school with Jagger and when he told us about Sumer, I loved her from day one (I even added her on facebook before meeting each other and I believe I messaged her saying hi and basically said we should be friends lol)

Since then we have gotten to know Sumer and have loved seeing these two grow in love. I photographed the surprise engagement a few months back and now it was time for engagement photos, so we headed to Indy for a beautiful day to capture some of these moments.

I can NOT wait for their wedding day!! <3 Enjoy, and more sessions to come :)

Bedroom Tour | Part 1

Not close to being done yet... but we have a BEDROOM! Woohoo! This was a very exciting day. When we got the news we could start moving in we were sad to hear that the carpet was not done yet in the bedroom though. That was a bummer to hear because nothing is more exciting than to get the bedroom in place first thing, so you have a bed to go to after a long day of work!

So we camped out upstairs on a futon for 2 weeks and then the day the carpet men came I opened the door wide open and sang praises! They thought I was nuts.

They weren't out the door before Cain started in the bedroom. We have had the bed it's self for 2 months, it started out in my parents living room. Then it was placed in on living room for those 2 weeks. Cain has had the wood ready and finished for almost a month, so all we needed was to set it up.

Of course, nothing turns out perfect and we had to make a lowes trip and with the help of our friends (Tony you rock!) We had a bed that night.

Since then we have slowly been doing other things and the bedroom hasn't gotten much more attention. We still need night stands, pictures need hung (this is the most important thing for me!), I need to get another curtain for the window and we are going to be putting a sliding barn door where the closet is! These things will come, for now ... we have a place to call home and lay our heads down at night and have a nice nights sleep.

We have a Green Choice Meditation Mattress that we love! The sheets and bed cover are from Amazon (My mother in law gifted us <3 I am a lucky girl)

My husband does not get enough praise for the hard work he does to make things so nice. He is so talented. I didn't even know he knew how to make a bedframe lol I am so blessed and thankful for his hard work and time put into making this place a home for us.

More will come and I will share when we get more into our bedroom!

Emma Grace | First Day Of Preschool

Emma was so excited for her first day of Preschool. We made sure she had a new shirt from Nora-Gray, a new backpack from Target and lots of hugs and love from everyone leading up to this big day! She is one of a kind and I love being Emma's aunt. I really loved having uncle Cain home and there to be apart of the fun. Don't miss Emma's "Poopy Butt Nonie" dance ....

Happy First Day of Preschool <3

Dupot Hospital, Fort Wayne Indiana | Thea

I got to visit the sweetest family ever at the hospital back in June! Thea was welcomed by so many loving friends and family! I love Fresh 48 sessions so much!

And then there were.... | Buchan Family

I have been just itching to share these photos! But of course, I had to wait until the word was out that our friends were expecting their first baby in January before posting!! When I got the text about these pictures I was pretty stoked for it to happen. Chelsea made this sign HERSELF - (dang, girl... talent!) and we waited until sunset to capture these shots!

Now I am waiting on maternity photos, newborn photos etc! So thankful to be apart of this sweet moment of them announcing the newest member of the Buchan family! Enjoy these <3

Learning to ride her bike | Emma

Emma learning how to ride her bike! It was fun having uncle Cain around for the day and seeing him help Emma was pretty stinking cute. With Cain gone now, and summer coming to an end I am treasuring these photos just a little more <3

And miss Zoe, what a joy she is! Her rotten smile is everything <3

Make sure to check out her site and make a stop into Nora Gray and tell her Lanette sent you! ;)

1. Can you tell my readers about yourself and what you do?

Bluffton, Indiana | Schantz Family

I love looking back at this session because we "cancelled" this session and then at the very last minute the rain STOPPED. So we both ran over to the State Park and jumped into this session in hopes that the rain would hold off... and it did! It started to rain just a little bit in the middle but we moved under some trees and we were good! So so so so thankful we stuck to the session (thanks Megan for being flexible!!!) because this was worth it!! I loved spending time with these little guys!!

Enjoy this session that was taken at the State Park in Bluffton, Indiana :)

Clear Lake, Angola Indiana | Anzini Family

I felt as though we had been waiting for this session, forever! Allison messaged me to capture some memories of her beautiful family but then due to weather and scheduling, we had to rebook a couple of times! So when the time finally came for us to do these I was so excited! These kids are just so sweet and full of energy! We took these to Clear Lake where they go every summer, the kids loved the island there and so did I <3 They were so kind to us that they invited both Cain and myself over earlier in the day so we could enjoy the water.... and boy did we!

Enjoy this session!

VISIT FROM THE AIR

This July, Cain has been back and forth from Shelbyville, IN.  He has been going through RL progression which is all for his flight training. He has to know so much about the aircraft and he also then has to get flight hours in before getting signed off. A couple of weeks ago I get a text in the morning from Cain that said he would be flying over Huntington (about 43 minutes from where we live)

Back when Cain first got this flight medic job I told him to tell me, if he is ever close to home, that I would love to see him fly over ... because, well, that's super cool to me! Ha. So when I got the text he would be close, I had to go! (thank goodness for a flexible job!)

What Cain wasn't aware of was that they were planning on landing and spending some time on the ground for a HERO's camp at Huntington's middle school. I saw them land and was able to go over with everyone else and greet the Soldiers.

It was a nice time spent with Cain and with the other Medic and Pilots. Cain now knows to check ahead of time next time they are flying over our area to see if they will be landing, that way everyone can see this amazing sight.

It truly was so wonderful to see him fly over because it made me visualize what he has been working for the past 9 months. In the last 12 months Cain has been gone now over 9 of them for his medical and fight training but to see him living out a dream and loving his job, I am able to know that it was worth the months apart and makes me very proud of him and for the hard work he put in, because it wasn't all easy!

I can't say enough how proud I am of Cain, he is so incredible at everything he does and God has so much in store for his future. I love seeing God work in Cain's life every day, no matter what he does, God is using him...

Blessed, to have him.

Fort Wayne, Indiana Family Session | The Park's

I'm so incredibly grateful and honored to get to meet such amazing families in my lines of work. The Park family has a special place though in my heart! I first met Emily when JJ was deployed and little Owen was just turning 1 years old (cake smash photos!)

I knew right off the bat that Emily was someone I would want to spend more time with, she is seriously the kindest person you will meet! Who doesn't like to be around that?! So then I got the news the JJ was coming home and I had the honor to witness and photograph JJ's homecoming and see him meet his baby girl Stella, who was almost 3 months at the time (if I remember right!) oh the tears that still flow when looking through those photos! (JJ's Homecoming Photos)

So, as you can see this family is pretty special and I feel extremely blessed to be able to photograph such a perfect little family. I love JJ's and Emily's babies, Jax, Owen, and Stella! I think you will to after looking through these photos <3

Stay OFF! of my skin

Today I am going to shine the spot light on this new Insect Repellent I have been using. I am in thick, tall grass a lot with taking pictures and I never wanted to put "Off" on my skin because, well, chemicals. I know I know, chemicals... that word that no one likes to talk about!

When I found out that it was rated a 9 on the "Think Dirty" app I made my own bug spray with just essential oils. It worked great and I never really had to complain about it. But when I found this insect repellent I was super excited because I am not a huge DIY(er) and making the spray took a hot minute (really no time at all) but who's got time for that?!

I wanted to share the screen shot from my phone of the "Off!" on the Think Diry app...

Developmental and Reproductive toxicity... I think not! ha.

Evenings Before Goodbyes

Oh, I would love to spend every evening like this. The three of us together and enjoying the sunset together. The last year has been a long one, but for some reason, the last few months have been the hardest! July started out looking just wonderful, it looked like Cain would be home all of July, I counted the days he would be home and I was pretty stinking happy about it. Then, that very afternoon he got dates to leave for the last of his flight training in Shelbyville. Thankfully, things always work out and he was able to get dates home still through out July, here and there.

So that's what we have been doing and what's left of July for us. He will be home for a day or two and gone for a few more, then back again. Just always being very thankful for the time we do get. As I was sharing with friends over the weekend, a whole day together is huge for us and if it's a weekend, that is like a unicorn!

As you can see in these pictures with Nova, she is pretty happy when her family is together. I've got nothing on Cain, she loves him so much and I would have to agree with her.

Guess what, today... we are together <3 It's a good day.

Fort Wayne, Indiana | Price Girls

The beauty of these girls came from the inside out, truly could not get over their sweet spirits and kind hearts. They are loved beyond measure. I knew it from the start, the way their parents spoke to them, their words to each other were sweet, loving and kind. They laughed and had true joy.

I was praying the whole time that I would be able to capture just a little bit of that joy, to show the love that these girls have and show their hearts. I am so so thankful for the friends I meet from doing photography. There are days that it can be hard to make everyone happy and I know that not everyone can be happy. But when I see a mom almost in tears because I am capturing her sweet girls, to me that's when I know what I am doing is so worth it and what I do matters <3

This post is long but so worth it to go to the end, some sweet moments below <3

Empower Event

It's Wednesday so that means I am going to be shining light on wellness and what that looks like for me! Every week on Wednesday's I will be sharing something different and be talking healthy foods, wellness goals and progress, my essentials and just a lot of goodness like that!

Today, or should I say tonight I wanted to share this huge event that is coming in August! When I was approached about helping lead this event I was so excited because I love helping others and it's been such a long journey for me with my wellness so getting to help others as they are going through their own, it just makes sense. I can't help but cheer them on.

Fort Wayne, Indiana | Tony + Courtney + Kinsley

If you have been on my blog before you might recognize this beautiful family! Anytime that we get the chance we love spending a evening with Tony, Courtney and Kinsley. This evening it was so beautiful I asked if we could take pictures! Courtney willing said yes, (she says she will never say no to more pictures of Kinsley!) so we heading out as the sun was setting.

I am so thankful for their friendship and we have LOVED watching Kinsley continue to grow. I can't help but smile when I look over these photos again, so so sweet.

Bluffton, Indiana | Brittney Maternity Session

I was so excited when Brittney reached out to me about Maternity and Newborn photos! I can not believe how long ago this seems! These were taken back in May! I know, I can hear you know "Lanette why has it taken so long to post!?" I'm sorry sorry, I know I need to get better!

Since May Brittney and Jacob welcomed baby Handley into the world. I will be sharing her newborn session soon!

Salt Lake City, Utah | YL Convention Part 2

It's now been a few weeks since I was in Salt Lake but I am still pretty excited about the experience I had there! If you missed part 1 of my trip you'll have to go read that, it was a hot mess! (Part 1)

This was day 2 and it was the field day for me! Actually, day 1 was going to be field day but because of all the canceling flights due to weather, I missed my scheduled date at the fields. But once I made it in I went and asked if I could get my Lavender field day changed, because they are so overly nice there they made it happen for me and I was pretty excited that it all came together so nicely.

BEING MARY | Lindsay Anderson

Thanks for hoping on this Monday afternoon!

I am so excited to be sharing with you this wonderful and heartfelt story from Linsday. In May, Linsday was asked to do a devotion for our ladies Mother's Day gathering. As I sat there in a room filled with woman of all ages and chapters of life I saw that there was not a dry eye, along with me.

This story touched me and I wanted it to be shared.

Thank you, Lindsay, for letting me share and for opening up for us to relate and feel like it's okay to not be perfect, and to be more like Mary.

Linsday Anderson:

When Lori asked me about a month ago to speak to you all tonight, I laughed because I thought, “what could I possibly share or encourage these woman, most of them older than I am.” But deep down inside, I knew I would end up doing it. Just because, that Is the way God works. When you’re asked to “pray about something” God usually changes your heart, and not always the way you have it all planned either.

Salt Lake City, Utah | YL Convention Part 1

I can not even put into words right now the excitement I felt when I arrived into Salt Lake City last week!

The struggle of getting me there was rough. A canceled flight, rescheduled a day later, 4-hour layover.... yeah, a 12 hour day then turned into a 17 hour day because of the time changes. So when this day ended I was so wiped, I was extremely exhausted from there on out too for the week. But it was a crazy exciting week, to say the least!

The first day was spent with my friend Liza and some new friends. We visited "Aroma Share" where vendors come and show us all the fun goodies we can use with our oils, there are educational booths there was a natural makeup booth, jewelry, personalized bags etc. Just a whole bunch of awesome stuff ha.

Then we ate at Fat Jacks where I got a bunless burger that was to die for (maybe because that was my first meal of the day!) I will be going back there though next year, so so good!

After that, we headed to "General Session" It's like the opening of convention and it's where they release the new products. That's where 30,000 other Oilers come together and it's like a huge party of cheers for every new product. I think that's when things really got exciting because truly, I love this company and everything they do to make it easier and convenient for us to have products that are safe for us and the kids in our lives. Just really am so glad I am part of it.

Some photos from big girl camera (which I wish I had taken more with but, life)

Bluffton, Indiana Children's Photography | Clouse Kids

Pinching myself at how blessed I am! I have the most adorable and loving, fun and silly friends/clients to photograph! I just smile at how thankful I am for the time to be able to capture memories, moments in time. REAL moments and love of a family. There are silly moments but there are sweet moments too. I love both <3

Clouse kiddo's <3

Glen Ellyn, Illinois | Crashing The Fair

This past Thursday we had the chance to meet up with a friend of Cain's from High School! Josie is now living in Chicago so when I found out I was going to get to visit Cain the last 2 weeks of his trip here I texted Josie to see if we could meet up!

Everything worked out perfectly for it to happen! She invited her two friends to join us at the Blackberry Market to talk about oils and replacing chemicals! Then when Blackberry was closing for the night we decided to crash Glen Ellyn's local Fair! What a fun evening of good laughs and great fellowship with an old and new friends!

My top is from @noragray <3
