Fort Wayne, IN Military Homecoming | Park Family
Tuesday, October 25, 2016
Someone recently told me that I would photograph a homecoming well because being a military wife myself I see things from that side of things. I hadn't thought of that until that moment. I can see how that might be true. Although Cain has not been deployed yet we have gone months without each other many of times because of the Army the past 4 years and I do understand that moment of being reunited with your spouse.
This homecoming had me in all sorts of emotions. Maybe that is the reason behind why!
I got to know the Park family when Owen (the middle child) turned 1 year old. I found out that JJ was deployed and he was going to miss the birth of their youngest, Stella. When I found out that I was going to be able to make it to their homecoming I was so thrilled to be able to capture this very special moment of not just a homecoming but the first time JJ would meet his newborn daughter.
It was a moment I will never forget. Although, it was a crowded airport it was like I was the only one there witnessing these moments between this family. Jaxon and Owen running to their daddy, JJ meeting Stella for the first time, and the silent moments between Emily and JJ holding each other not saying anything at all….because sometimes nothing needs to be said. Only a hug and a kiss are needed <3
I am still sappy about this homecoming. After I had left the airport I had this verse come to mind...
Romans 12:15
"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
This day was a day to rejoice with my friend! Most of my days photographing are days we are rejoicing such as... Births, Weddings, Homecomings, Maternity sessions etc. But, I have also been part of the mourning too. When my camera is put away and all a family has left are the pictures I captured from a past memory, I am there mourning with them. I want to give hugs, hold a hand and just be a friend. Because being a hometown photographer doesn't just mean I am your go to girl, it means I am there through the good and the bad.
This day was so humbling to me and one I will never forget.
I rejoice with you Park family! I rejoice with all those who have had a homecoming. I myself cannot wait for my husband to be home and having people rejoice with me!!!

I was so excited to meet the Sedaghat family for this lifestyle newborn/family session. It was a joy to be in their home and be able to capture these special memories.
Leaving their home I couldn't help but just smile because I truly love my "job" and I get to meet some of the most incredible people and get to make memories last a lifetime, how cool is that?! I think so at least!
Just a few of my favorites from this day...
Haley | Bluffton, IN
Wednesday, October 12, 2016
This was the easiest session I have ever done! Maybe because A) I felt so relaxed around Haley B) that Haley is gorgeous and C) that we had worship music playing the whole time! (I think I need more music played while taking pictures!!)
I can not believe I have only known Haley for a year. It seems so much longer than that! Haley is a great friend and has been so encouraging to me while Cain has been away. She checks in and makes sure I am doing okay, that means so much to me! I have seen Haley grow this past year into a beautiful person, who desires to be closer to Christ <3 I can't wait to see how God uses Haley for his glory. I'm happy to call her a friend, a sister in Christ!
Avery + Kennedy | Bluffton, IN
Wednesday, October 5, 2016
Avery and Kenndey are my favorite girls! I have been lucky enough to know them both for many years from taking their family photos and their yearly cheer photo shoot! Every year I fall more in love with them! They are sweet, funny, super cheesy, goofy and gorgeous!! Their beauty is from the inside out!
The whole time I think to myself "Man, I am so lucky to have this job!" capturing them every year growing up and becoming young ladies is pretty neat. They both are so different but I think that's what makes them such great friends!
Sadly the rain was about to make it so that we wouldn't be able to do pictures. But the girls and their moms decided that a little (alot) of rain wouldn't stop them from having a fun photo shoot! As you can see from the last few pictures... it was raining, but they were just having fun no matter what!
Can't wait to do this again next year! But we will hope for the sunshine of course ;)
