Week #4 2015

1.23.15

Morning hockey game for Cain. I sat in the stands freezing like always.

Thankfully Betsy called me and we were able to talk while Cain played (Side tracked me from being cold!)  I miss my cousin Betsy so much, wish she was around in person to talk with.

1.24.15

Roast night! I love throwing herbs together. I was afraid at one time about adding herbs and spices to things. I was wondered I would mess up the flavor of things. Now it's like second nature to toss around spices to make flavors stand out more!

Note: This roast made 5 meals total!

1.25.15

Sunday was a fun day for me. Lana is now selling Thirty-One products and I got to be her first party! I wasn't sure how it would go with me not having a lot of friends. But my family stepped up and were there for me, which made my day.

I just put my order in and got $250 worth of Thirty-One stuff! I'm pretty happy.

1.26.15

Morning sunshine coming through my kitchen window ...

1.27.15

Early morning cuddles like always :) Nova loves every bit of it ;)

1.28.15

Deciding over the color I will use for my next home project!

1.29.15

Doing a bone broth fast.... easier said then done! But almost done with it and the healing my body gets is so rewarding :)

"Fire Place" project

This bookshelf was left here at our new home by our landlords. They didn't want or need it and so I said I would keep it and try to found a use for it! It wasn't until my sister Lana came over to see our new home though that the idea of using it as a "Fire Place" came up.

Lana went over to this piece and went on about how it looked like a fire place and how cute it would be with candles....

Lana is the crafty one, not me! But I could see what she saw and it got me thinking what I could do with it.

Christmas was the first time that I finally was able to bring to life, as Lana saw it.  I was so excited to show her because if it wasn't for her idea, I'm not sure what I would have done with it!

Christmas fire place...

So, after Christmas time was over I hinted around to some people about painting this "fire place" and I didn't get a lot of great reactions lol

Everyone liked the old wood look, but I REALLY  like the color white and wasn't quite sure if I liked the plain wood.

I was pretty determined about painting it but then when a friend said that she thought it would look better too, I decided I would!

So here is the BEFORE...

And AFTER...

Well? Am I the only one who thinks this looks TONS BETTER? I painted the whole thing with two coats of white paint, once it was dry I took a electric sander and went to town! It took MAYBE 2 minutes tops to finish it the way I wanted.

(SHHH.. don't tell my Dad or Cain that I used the sander... .. they would have freaked out watching me handle that sander!)

So side by side you can see how much "Newer" it looks yet still has the vintage look about it.

I'm excited to see what I can do with this every season this year!

Here I wanted a Valentine's Day theme, might still add to this but for now I'm happy with it :)

Thanks to Lana and Jessica for the awesome ideas!

Week #3 2015

1.16.15

1.17.15

Saturday was a great day! We almost had our Kitchen done, I took Maternity pictures, Cain got to play hockey at the Fort Wayne Coliseum again and we went to a surprise birthday party for our uncle Michael.

1.18.15

We love Sundays as I've said many times before. It's normally the day we go "Home" (Bluffton) to go to church and spend the afternoon with my parents. This week we went to church then headed to Fort Wayne to spend the day with them. The guys needed a special sized tool to finish the kitchen sink.

I tried to help find what they were looking for, after I stood back and laughed at them lol

1.19.15

My kitchen DONE!

1.20.15

This captures my nights. It might be hard to see but Nova was laying on Cain and he was cuddling up to her giving her hugs. To me this is why I try and take a photo everyday. Even if it's later at night when the natural light is gone and I'm using my computer as the only light source.

Note: I had my computer set up in the living room because my feet were hurting from standing all day. Trying to fix that problem here soon.

1.21.15

hmmm... love me some warm bone broth! Every Monday (Mostly) I fix a whole chicken in the crock pot and then make the bone broth over night. In the mornings it's still warm and I drink it right then and there! I always have more to last me until the next week but this time around it was a small chicken with not a whole lot to it!

1.22.15

We started this morning off with eggs and bacon. This Thursday was a little different. Cain had a Parkview safety class to take that was just down the road from our cave. So we had some extra time in the morning to spend together, I love these kinds of mornings.

Nova was wondering when she was going to get her breakfast!!

These two oils have been life savers lately! I always have them out with my coconut oil (that has peppermint in it) for when I need it.

Haven't tried these oils yet? You are missing out!

Natalie | Maternity Session

Taking these pictures was so amazing! I love every maternity session I do but for good reason this one was extra special! Natalie and I always said we were friends since birth. We've known each other so long and were neighbors all through our childhood.

To see her glowing like this made my day. I could not be more excited about the birth of her little one coming in March!

Here are a few of my favorites!
