My Dearest Husband...

A new year is coming and with it I will want to make changes. Like how much money I want to save, or how much weight can I lose or hopefully that I will keep my car clean and then of course make better choices and eat healthier food...

The list can go on and on of things that I want to change and make new.

But there is one thing I know for sure that I don't want to change and that's my Husband.

When I met my husband almost 5 years ago I did not know he would be my husband, my best friend or the greatest man I know to this day (Not including my father.. )

He has amazed me everyday since then by showing me what a real man looks and acts like. Someone who loves, no matter what. Forgives, even when no one else will and who respects you... for you.

I'm sure you didn't come to my blog to read about my husband, so I'm sorry if you came all this way and feel silly reading about how perfect I think my man is... but it's my blog so there for I can post these things. The things I want to always remember and the things that need written down.

I needed to write this down not to show Cain off, but for me to open up about my feelings and how thankful I am, I had to share this..

That list we make, of our perfect soul mate. The one with the things he must do and have to be, to be the perfect guy... Cain made that silly list of mine look like a joke. He topped every little thing I thought I needed and then gave me things I didn't realized I would ever want!

Something I didn't think to write down on that silly little list was, respect. He gives me so much respect for who I am and what I do. That's something I can't imagine a life without now that I have it with him.

This is short but very meaningful to me.

I hope that everyone is loved, respected and thought highly of by the ones they love most.

To my dearest husband,

I adore you.

Love,
Your girl

Cain's Birthday trip and The Stringer's Christmas!

The Christmas ship set sail this past weekend! It started with a Christmas/Birthday party for Cain Friday night. It was wonderful having a lot of our family over to our home to celebrate Cain's birthday. Although not everyone could make it I'm so truly thankful for the Birthday wishes to Cain :)

Saturday morning we woke up early to make a quick trip to Chicago! This trip was a gift to Cain (and me!) from Scott and Ruthie. When Scott first called me a few months back asking what I thought about this trip to Chicago for Cain, I loved the idea.... but was jealous, because I wanted in on it too! But as he finished out the plan and ideas I realized.... he wanted ME to take Cain... I was pumped!

The gift was to go see Christopher Titus on his tour! Who is Christopher Titus? Well you're crazy if you haven't heard of him ... or you just don't like to laugh! :p For real, look up his stuff on YouTube. When Cain and I started dating Cain would listen to Christopher Titus in the car on road trips. I sat there listening to him and ended up crying it was so funny.

So a long story short, he told Cain on Thanksgiving and we were both extremely excited for this Saturday to come!

But if I was going to be in the chill town I HAD to stop in at Crate and Barrel. It's only my favorite place to go (There and Target!) So we did some shopping and eating while town down. So much fun :)

Here I caught Cain making his "Thinking" face.

The show was amazing! We will do this again.

Picture before we walked in ...

This birthday trip felt more like a anniversary trip! The time spent away with Cain was so great. We both agreed we need to do more weekend get aways! THANK you so much Scott and Ruthie for the trip, will never forget it!

On to Christmas at the Stringer's!

Growing up and getting married is amazing.... you get a extra set of families and more Christmas parties... BUT you have to fit all the parties into your schedule around this time of year and we can't be the only ones who have a hard time making sure you make it to every party?!! Are we?!

My mom decided to do our family Christmas before Christmas this year. Seeing how Cain works Christmas day it didn't leave many more options!

It was great Christmas with the family. We opened gifts, had a great dinner (Thanks mom for cooking amazing, healthy foods!) and even played a game.

My dad made each of us kids a handmade "Aggravation" board game. It really was a amazing gift and he did awesome on the board. He can make others if anyone is interested! - Lenny Stringer

Now we are taking a break on the Christmas parties and family get togethers and both had to go back to work today! But we will be at it again tomorrow for Christmas eve!

More Christmas things to come :)

Tis the season for Cain's birthday and CHRISTMAS!

I adore my husband.

In every way he amazes me, the love I have for him just grows with every session of life we share together. He is an amazing man and friend...

He also is a big distraction from my work! My clients hopefully haven't suffered from this yet because I have try to be very stern with him when he asks to lay on the couch and cuddle up with him when I should be working! I normally have to say I'm sorry, I have to work! ... but today, like many other days his batting eye lashes and sweet smile wins and I give in to the cuddles.

You'll just have to believe when I say there is no saying "No" to those eye lashes!

Cain has taught me a lot about just relaxing and not to feel stressed all the time. Though my personality is to over react and stress over the little things...

"She comes from a long line of major over reactors" - NAME THAT MOVIE

This week Cain will win every time because it's his Birthday week! He got lucky seeing how his Birthday isn't until Sunday, he gets the whole week to be extra spoiled.

The next couple of weeks I am going to try extra hard to relax and have fun with the holiday season! We have a lot of great things planned the next couple of weeks. With Cain's birthday and the Christmas parties we have... should be a good time.

We are going to start our season off right with a Birthday party for Cain and a little Christmas party all in the same night. This being our first Christmas as husband and wife we were short on a lot of "Christmasy" decor. Thank goodness for Goodwill and the love of family members. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our life to help us with the things we don't have.

This is my first Christmas to decorate my house, you could say I'm pretty excited.

I hope I just don't go over board :p

Will post more later this week and of course will have our party captured!

And the FIRST person I see comment and answer right to this line .... "You come from a long line of over reactors" wins a gift!

Hint - one of my all time favorites!

Grogg's FIRST Christmas Tree

So... we had our pictures taken :)

In a dream world I would hirer a photographer to follow my little family around 24/7 to capture every little moment. It would save me a lot of time ... AND I could then be in ALL the photos. Wouldn't that be nice? It's every photographers dream to be in the photos once in awhile!

This is our first Christmas as husband and wife! Yay! And we are in a house! Double the excitement going on here! :)

I knew we would be getting a Christmas tree this year because, well I love them. But Cain made sure we got a real Christmas tree. That part I didn't care either way. I've never had a real Christmas tree so it being our first year together, why not go all out and do it right!

Stevenson's Photo (Jennifer) has taken our photos before. We were just dating when she first photographed us at my parents home in Bluffton. I love her work! So I knew who I would ask to follow us around in search of the perfect tree!

It was a cold out but of course that didn't stop us from searching rows of trees to find the perfect one with a TAG! Who knew finding a tree would be so hard? Cain found the perfect one though and I brought my camera along to help photograph. It wasn't because I didn't trust Jen, but because I wanted pictures of what it looks like most of the time in our life... Cain doing something and me photographing it! It was more of a realistic photo shoot that way :p
