New York City | Day 1

The Big Apple was everything you've heard about and so much more. We came into New York City late Sunday evening. Probably the worst time to come in for newbies. Dark, not sure where you're going, busy, crazy busy, taxi's ... out of their mind taxi drivers!

We made it though! We visited Times Square that night which happened to be right outside our hotel window! It was nuts with lots of people. It sure is a crazy place to be, very exciting!

We woke up Monday morning ready to see some sites. We mostly walked all day Monday, so we got to see a lot of places (Some we didn't even mean too!) But no matter if we thought we were "lost" we always ended up where we needed to be.

Washington DC | Day 3

Sunday morning we headed out to see a couple more "Must see and do" places before leaving Washington DC. I'm glad we had the whole morning/afternoon for what we saw.

Places we went :

(1 star being okay and 4 stars being amazing)

Arlington Cemetery****
Iwo Jima Memorial****

Cain asked for the camera for this photo.  He loved the shadow,  I do too!

Our tour guides ...

So something great about going to Arlington was going to actually see a family member. Now did Cain ever meet his great, great, great great grandfather.... No. But his grandmother knew of him and that's what's important. We were able to go for her and the rest of his family. It was special to them which made it that much more special for us!

Next we got in the car and drove to New York City! .... More to come!

My mom and Cain were our travel guides the whole vacation! I love this pictures because most the time when I looked ahead, beside, behind and really just about anywhere, this is what I saw!

And Cain's thinking face.... my favorite :)

NEW YORK! So exciting to have been there. The Empire State Building MIGHT have just been my favorite thing. Hard to pick though :)

3.10.15

Yes... this is my husband.

Sometimes I just have to laugh at his ideas and then blame his dad (Scott) for it!

Time's Square was a blast ... but my parents are more fun. The trip wouldn't of mean the same without them!

3.11.15

Back home and nicer weather meant dusting off the bike and taking a late afternoon ride :)
