La Parguera, Puerto Rico Biobay + Snorkeling | Day 6

This day was AMAZING! I can not say enough how great of an adventure this was for us. We are so thankful we took our friends advice and went to this biobay area to Snorkel and see the Bioluminescent Bay glow at night. It was honestly the biggest work out of my life that day in the water. I was so tired but it was worth every minute and I would do it again in a heart beat! Enjoy the vlog of our day!

Thank you Paradise Diving and Snorkeling crew for making this the best day ever!
And of course, thank you Canon and Gopro for helping us capture these memories <3

Lanette's Photography 2016 | RECAP

WHAT A YEAR!!

This year was huge because a little of it was spent with me being a full-time photographer! - Although I have felt like I was full time for a few years now, I have always nannied alongside photography.

So starting in August I was only doing photography and it was a bit scary! I was counting on just photography to fill my part of the financial needs we have.

Blessings came overflowing - I was booked for almost 2 1/2 months straight! It was a little overwhelming but I could not complain! I was doing what I loved to do and it made it so much easier to cope with my husband being gone for 4 months since I had amazing people to photograph and keep me busy!

This year I witnessed another birth, I photographed families, seniors, couples, bellies, babies, growing kids, adoptions,  I even photograph Barbara Bradley at Vera Bradley!  But I think my favorite this year was photographing a Military Homecoming!

Survivor Beach, Aguadilla PR | Day 4

Wednesday was another amazing day for us! We started our day in search of Survivors Beach. We had to park at Surfer's Beach and follow a self-made trail through the woods/beach/rocks to find Survivors Beach! We made a new friend, Chan on our way. He also was looking for Survivor Beach and with all our heads together (okay, just them, I wasn't helping at all) we found the beach! It was breath taking and we all were so excited to be there! We had the beach to ourselves and I think that's another reason we were able to really enjoy it!!

Later in the day, we headed to Rincon, PR to have our pictures taken! Our photographers Ricky and Em were the kindest most in love couple and we had one amazing evening with them. After pictures, they invited us out to eat at a local pizza place. We sat for a couple hours just chatting about anything and everything! I feel like we had so much in common and that we had found some new life long friends.

At the end, I share a vlog of our hike to find Survivors Beach!! So much fun!!!

Week #3 2016

1.16.16

Started my weekend out photographing Nora! :) She is such a doll!

1.17.16

Another day, another session! Baby Kinsley was a perfect little girl for pictures!

1.18.16

I had to bring my camera inside from the cold while I was babysitting, and Maddux and Avery were thrilled. They love when I bring my camera and always ask to take a photo.

Maddux took one photo and was so excited. "I did it!" Haha He wanted to show us and he handed the camera over to Avery ....

So now it was Avery's turn.....

Unlike Maddux, Avery didn't just take one photo ....

She took one photo after another... *snap *snap *snap

She keep snapping photos and I realized, Avery is a lot like me! I couldn't help but laugh at it. That is me to a 'T'.... I like to *snap *snap *snap waiting for the moment to happen, that little caught of guard smile.

How sweet it is to have kids photograph what they see. Thanks Avery for capturing photos of me, something I don't have a lot of! But I am trying to hand the camera over more this year. It's not as easy as it sounds.

Love these two! I have been babysitting them since they were babies and to think they are going to school this coming year! Time is flying.

Eating snow. It's what she does ... haha

Our snow girl.

1.21.16

I think you can tell a lot about a person by how their plants look. At times my plants shows a little sadness to them, lack of water, sun light and care. It shows how busy I can be and the little time I have at home to take care of them.

I am trying to spend more time at home this year, caring for my home and watering my plants. I miss summer time and the sunlight to help these plants grow.

1.22.16

I asked Cain if he wanted to see if Colt wanted to play hockey on their pound .... but, secretly it was really just me wanting to play hockey.

I'm not going to lie ... I do enjoy a game of hockey. After watching Cain play for a while now I do get jealous. So finally I could go out and enjoy myself for the afternoon... and I loved every minute of it!

We love the Cox family so much. They have welcomed us to their home so many times and we feel very thankful to call them our friends! :)

First Snow day | 2016

As adults we get to decide what we do everyday.

I think we've done pretty well as adults (so far) we don't miss work, we make it to family events unless we are working, we pay our bills, we show up on time or early, cook organic foods for our health. have taken care of our dog (pretty nicely too I might add) and we save our money. So on so forth.

So as adults I think we are doing okay, I'm sure we could always do better but hey, we are still young!

But today as adults we gave ourselves a snow day! It's a novelty for us to not go ANYWHERE for one day. Honestly, it's the rarest thing in our life. Either we work, doing something important or have a family thing. We never have days where we don't leave the house. Maybe I won't have to leave the house, but Cain does or the other way around.

So today was our snow day, don't go anywhere, eat (organic) cookie dough and be ... lazy. Yup. Something I'm not so great at. So of course I said, "I still have to work a little, okay?"

What?! I can't help myself! It's a horrible gene my parents gave me!

We decided earlier on in the morning (secretly) that we would take Nova out and play. You see we couldn't make plans like that with her hearing, because she knows what we are saying and she would have not stopped bothering us until we went out and played, so we did a little "Pig latin", Whispering  and mouthing words so she didn't find out.

She knew something was up because we were whispering and then wouldn't let up on us until we told her what was going on. You might think I'm joking at this point... But in the most serious voice* I'm not joking, she knows what we are saying.

Haha, so out we went! Cold, beautiful, white and fun - Nova loves the snow.

We love you always, Nova. But there is something about fresh snow on your nose that we love the most.

My love.

My mom has asked nicely to see me in more pictures this year.

The struggle is real.

The quote "Dogs leave paw prints on your heart" rang in my ear right about now and it almost brought me to cry.

These prints in the snow mean the world to me. My best friends walking together side by side. I get to see this, capture and adore it! I love my little family.

And the quote now is "Nova has left paw prints on our hearts, that will last a lifetime"

Time : slow down.
