When Cain was away for Paramedic school we started planning a vacation for when he was back home, just a little get away for us to take, seeing how we were apart for so long. We started to plan it and things really started to get exciting! We found out that Cain would have lots of points for free hotel nights after staying in a hotel for 4 months in Texas, we found great plane tickets and everything fell into place with dates. We booked our trip to Puerto Rico! We were excited about it when we booked it but Cain was still in Paramedic school and we were just focusing on him getting through and put the trip in the back of our heads, because we had lots of other things going on at the time. Now that Cain is home and has finished his Paramedic school we are just days away from our trip and things are starting to become real and we are getting very excited!
The main reason we chose Puerto Rico was because Cain has a buddy from Basic Training and AIT from PR. He flew to Indiana for our wedding and even stood as a groomsman. We told him then that "We will come visit you next!" we meant what we said, but didn't know when that would be! So when we knew we would have free hotel nights our options opened up for a vacation and PR was on the top of our list because we really wanted to visit with Cain's buddy and knowing it would be warm, and a great get away we knew it was perfect.
I have been working so so hard to get done with ALL my work before we leave. I really wanted to fully enjoy our time away, together.
Cain deserves this get away so much. He has worked his butt off for so long non stop. We also know he will be gone almost half the year with more schools and training so I have a feeling this trip will be one we will look back on when he is away again.
