La Parguera, Puerto Rico Biobay + Snorkeling | Day 6

This day was AMAZING! I can not say enough how great of an adventure this was for us. We are so thankful we took our friends advice and went to this biobay area to Snorkel and see the Bioluminescent Bay glow at night. It was honestly the biggest work out of my life that day in the water. I was so tired but it was worth every minute and I would do it again in a heart beat! Enjoy the vlog of our day!

Thank you Paradise Diving and Snorkeling crew for making this the best day ever!
And of course, thank you Canon and Gopro for helping us capture these memories <3

Fort Wayne, IN Autumn Engagement Session | Nik + Lisa

Whhyyyy did I not share this session sooner!? I got so busy after the Autumn season because I was catching up with work, visited my husband in Texas then when I come home it was all holiday madness! So that's why am now just going back and starting to blog some session from 2016 - at least it's still early in the new year!

This session was my very last Autumn session and it might have been the easiest one ever! Lisa is, well just take a look... she is gorgeous and the more I get to know her (I am photographing their wedding in April) the more I see her beauty from the inside too. I know that their wedding day is going to be beautiful and I just can not wait to capture more moments for them <3

Bluffton, IN Portrait Session | Lane

I love the new year and the fresh ideas it brings. I was so excited for it to snow finally (we missed the first snowfall) so when I walked out and saw the snow falling I texted my sister Lane seeing if she had the afternoon off. Lucky for me, she did! We went out in the cold snow and I got to try out the prism I had recently purchased as a new project to try out! I am always wanting to challenge myself each year, trying to be a better photographer, more creative and have more emotion in photos.

Lane was a perfect subject for me to try out the prism and do some fun portraits! This session brought me back to my first years photographing people, focusing more on emotion and less on "perfection" Although I love when I get that perfect family photos or that perfect "shot" I want to always be real! That's one of my goals this year for photography, to be real and show real emotion from the family, couples, kids etc <3

I'm ready for this new year and can't wait to photograph more portrait sessions! If you think you might want this year, email me to set up a date! Let's chat!

Lanette's Photography 2016 | RECAP

WHAT A YEAR!!

This year was huge because a little of it was spent with me being a full-time photographer! - Although I have felt like I was full time for a few years now, I have always nannied alongside photography.

So starting in August I was only doing photography and it was a bit scary! I was counting on just photography to fill my part of the financial needs we have.

Blessings came overflowing - I was booked for almost 2 1/2 months straight! It was a little overwhelming but I could not complain! I was doing what I loved to do and it made it so much easier to cope with my husband being gone for 4 months since I had amazing people to photograph and keep me busy!

This year I witnessed another birth, I photographed families, seniors, couples, bellies, babies, growing kids, adoptions,  I even photograph Barbara Bradley at Vera Bradley!  But I think my favorite this year was photographing a Military Homecoming!
